Our story began in 2020 during an island-wide lockdown in Sri Lanka, where rooftop picnics became a treasured escape. In those moments of stillness, our founder,  Liyara Cooray, envisioned a brand that could bring the same sense of calm and joy into everyday life. The name 'ging-home' is inspired by the gingham fabric, reminiscent of the classic picnic blanket—a symbol of carefree, sun-soaked afternoons.

In Sri Lanka, we are fortunate to have access to many natural, plant-based alternatives. At ging-home, we incorporate these resources into our range of high-quality, slow-made home essentials. By focusing on reducing plastics, microplastics, and harmful chemicals, we aim to create products that are not only better for us and our homes but also for the planet. Every item is crafted with care, reflecting our commitment to preserving nature while maintaining quality and simplicity.

• Our detergent is packaged in reusable glass jars or resealable, sustainable kraft paper packs for our refills. Plus, we've opted for plastic lamination free stickers. We also offer bulk detergent which is packaged in compostable bags and reused cardboard boxes.
• And let's not forget our main packaging bags that are constructed from biodegradable kraft paper (lamination free), ensuring that every element of your ging-home experience is aligned with our mission of promoting eco-conscious living.
